With effect from 5th September 2007, an online security feature known as Transaction Authorisation
Code (TAC) will be introduced at AmOnline.com.my. The introduction of TAC is part of our ongoing commitment to implement best practices to protect the safety and security of AmOnline users when performing transactions via AmOnline.com.my.
In addition to Username and Password required to log into AmOnline.com.my, the TAC will provide a second level of authentication as a security check before performing specific transactions.
What is Transaction Authorisation
Code?
Transaction Authorisation
Code (TAC) is a unique, 8-digit code that is a compulsory requirement for specific AmOnline transactions.
TAC is computer-generated and as added precaution, it:
- Can only be used with your own AmOnline.com.my login Username and Password.
- Is valid for 24 hours upon request.
- Is valid for only two hours once you have used it, or within the same login session.
When is TAC required?
The TAC is required when performing one of these transactions:
| Fund Transfer to 3rd Party/InterBank GIRO |
To transfer fund to accounts (immediate and future date) |
| Repayment to 3rd Party |
To make any repayment to 3rd party account (immediate and future date) |
| 3rd Party Account Maintenance and InterBank GIRO Account Maintenance |
To add or delete a new beneficiary/beneficiaries |

How to request for a TAC?
AmOnline users can request for a TAC at AmOnline by clicking the Request TAC link. TAC will be sent via SMS to the user's registered mobile phone. The mobile phone number can be registered via AmBank's ATMs nationwide or via our AmBank Contact Centre at 1300 80 8888 (Domestic) or (603) 2178 8888 (Overseas).
How does TAC work?
- AmOnline users must request for a TAC before they can perform certain Internet banking's transactions, which requires
TAC.
- TAC will expire after 24 hours if it is not being used.
- TAC is valid for only 2 hours after it has been used.
- Once the TAC expires users must apply for a new TAC if they wish to perform Internet banking transactions, which requires
TAC.
- If users accidentally delete the TAC SMS from their mobile phone or forgets the TAC, users must request for a new
TAC.
- Users can reuse the TAC for different financial transactions within the 2 hours after activation or in the same login session.
- Users can register their mobile phone number at the ATMs or via AmBank Contact Centre at 1300 80 8888 (Domestic) or (603) 2178 8888 (Overseas).
