1. About AmMobile Services
 
1.1 What is AmMobile Services?
AmMobile Services are offered by AmBank Group to their customers to perform Banking transactions via their mobile phones/SMS. Currently, we are offering Celcom/Xpax (019 and 013) and Maxis/Hotlink (012 and 017) prepaid top-up services and Savings or Current account balance enquiry via your mobile phones/SMS.

2. Services Application
 
2.1 Who are eligible for these services?
These services are available for individual and joint (either to sign) savings or current account holders with AmBank.
 
2.2 How do I apply for these services?
To apply for these services, just:
  1. Activate through AmOnline or;
  2. Call AmBank Contact Centre at 1300 80 8888 (Domestic) or (603) 2178 8888 (Overseas) or ;
  3. Activate at any AmBank branch
2.3 How do I activate my services after application?
To activate your AmMobile, kindly change the Mobile PIN as soon you receive it to a New Mobile PIN (6 alphanumeric characters). You will receive an SMS confirming that your Mobile PIN is activated.

If your application is via AmBank Contact Centre, you will receive a confirmation SMS from us on the same day.

If your application is via the application form, you will receive a confirmation SMS from us within 3 working days.

Note: You must change your Mobile PIN before the first usage (Refer to 3.2 for Mobile PIN Change).

3. Security
 
3.1 Are my transactions secure?
We have taken all necessary measures to ensure that the transfer of information is secure. By registering your account number and personal information, you need not send this information via SMS.

No one can instruct payment without your Mobile PIN. We encourage you to keep your Mobile PIN confidential at all times to prevent any unauthorised use of your AmMobile Banking account.
 
3.2 How do I change my Mobile PIN?
All you need to do is create your New Mobile PIN (6 alphanumeric characters) and send an SMS in the following format to 32033 (Maxis) and 88100 (Celcom):

CPW <Old Mobile-PIN> <New Mobile-PIN>
For example, key in CPW JOE123 JOE222 (to change your Mobile-PIN from JOE123 to JOE222).

OR

Speak to our Customer Service Executive at 1300 80 8888 (Domestic) or (603) 2178 8888 (Overseas) for assistance.
 
3.3 What if I forget my Mobile PIN?
Call AmBank Contact Centre at 1300 80 8888 (Domestic) or (603) 2178 8888 (Overseas) to speak to our Customer Service Executives to re-generate your temporary Mobile PIN. Upon receiving your temporary Mobile PIN, you are required to change your Mobile PIN to new Mobile PIN (6 alphanumeric characters).
 
3.4 Do I need to delete my text messages that were sent?
We would strongly advise you to delete all messages pertaining to your request via AmMobile Services for security reasons.

4. Services Cancellation
 
4.1 How do I deactivate my top-up services?
You may send an SMS to 88100 for Celcom OR 32033 for Maxis in the following format: DEA TUP <Mobile PIN>.
You may not be able to perform top-up until you activate your top-up services.
 
4.2 How to terminate my AmMobile Services?
You may send an SMS to 88100 for Celcom OR 32033 for Maxis in the following format: DEA <Mobile PIN>.
You will not be able to access to the AmMobile services until you reactivate your AmMobile services again.

5. Services Activation
 
5.1 How do I activate my top-up services?
You may send an SMS to 88100 for Celcom OR 32033 for Maxis in the following format: ACT TUP <Mobile PIN> to activate your top-up services. Immediately after this, you will be able to perform top-up.
 
5.2 How to activate my AmMobile Services after terminating my AmMobile Services?
You may send an SMS to 88100 for Celcom OR 32033 for Maxis in the following format: ACT <Mobile PIN> to activate your services. Immediately after this, you may be able to access your AmMobile Services again.

6. Prepaid Top-up Services
 
6.1 How many prepaid phones can I register for these services?
You only need to register your phone numbers (primary phone number) for these services. Once registered, you may top-up or cross top-up to any - prepaid numbers (Celcom 013, Celcom 019, Maxis 012 and Maxis 017).

The SMS confirmation message will only be sent to the primary phone number.
 
6.2 How do I register the secondary numbers for AmBank Mobile Banking top-up services?
No registration required for secondary numbers. It is open to any Celcom 013, Celcom 019, Maxis 012 & Maxis 017.
 
6.3 Can the secondary AmMobile users perform top-up?
No, only registered primary AmMobile user would be able to perform the transaction.
 
6.4 Do you need secondary number users' particulars as well?
No, you don't have to provide their particulars. We only need the primary user's particulars.
 
6.5 I am a Celcom prepaid customer. Can I top up for a Maxis prepaid number (or vice versa)
Yes, you can. All you have to do is just register your Celcom mobile -- number - and you will be able to perform cross top up services to Maxis prepaid numbers. and vice versa.
 
6.6 I am a postpaid Celcom/Maxis customer. Will I be able to top up for my Celcom/Maxis prepaid numbers?
Yes, you can. All you have to do is just register your Maxis/Celcom (or vice versa) postpaid number as your primary number and you will be able to perform prepaid top up and also cross top up services to Maxis/Celcom.
 
6.7 Will I be charged for using these services?
Currently, these services are provided free to our customers. However, standard SMS charges apply.
 
6.8 Is the services available 24 hours?
Currently, the services are available from 6.00 a.m. to 11.45 p.m.
 
6.9 How To Sign Up
Sign up now by following these 2 easy steps:

Step 1: Registration
There are 3 easy ways to register:
  1. Activate through AmOnline or;
  2. Call AmBank Contact Centre at 1300 80 8888 (Domestic) or (603) 2178 8888 (Overseas) or;
  3. Activate at any AmBank branch*
*Please complete the Application Form available at www.ambg.com.my/forms/echannels.pdf.

Step 2: Verification
Upon successful registration, you will receive your Mobile PIN via SMS. To activate your AmMobile Services, you are required to change to the new Mobile PIN (6 characters alphanumeric) as soon as you receive it.
