1.1 About ATM Regional Link
 
What is ATM Regional Link service?
ATM Regional Link service is a cross-border ATM withdrawal service initiated by MEPS which will enable our Bankcard (ATM card) holders to withdraw cash in foreign currencies using other country's ATM network i.e. NETS of Singapore and Arta Jasa of Indonesia. This cross-border ATM withdrawal service is also available to Singaporeans and Indonesians whenever they travel to Malaysia.

1.2 Eligibility
 
Who are eligible to use this service?
All AmBank's ATM Card holders are allowed to use this new service.

1.3 Services
 
How can I use this new service?
You are required to activate your bankcard (ATM card) before you travel to Singapore or Indonesia through any of the following channels:

  1. AmBank ATMs;
  2. AmBank Contact Centre at 1300 80 8888 (Domestic) or (603) 2178 8888 (Overseas);
  3. AmBank Branches
Customers may opt for either the temporary (by stating the number of months) or permanent ATM Regional Link service whenever they activate the ATM Regional Link service via any of the abovementioned channels.
 
Am I required to deactivate the ATM Regional Link service once I return from Singapore or Indonesia?
Yes, you are advised to deactivate your bankcard (ATM card) ATM Regional Link service once you returned from either Singapore or Indonesia for security purposes.
 
What are the types of transactions offered for this cross-border service?
For the time being, this cross border ATM service only supports Cash Withdrawal transaction.
 
How do I recognise an ATM that provides this service while travelling in Singapore/Indonesia?
While travelling in Singapore/Indonesia, look out for the NETS/Artajasa ATM which displays the "Bankcard" service logo as shown below:

 
How do I recognise an ATM that provides NETS and Artajasa service?
While travelling in Malaysia, look out for AmBank ATM which displays the "NETS" or "ATM Bersama" logo as shown below:

1.5 Fees
 
What is the service fee being charged for this cross-border service?
RM10 will be debited from customer's account for every successful ATM Regional Link cash withdrawal transaction performed at NETS of Singapore or Arta Jasa of Indonesia ATMs.

2. Visa PLUS
 
2.1 What is Visa PLUS?
 
Visa PLUS is an integrated global ATM network that allows the cardholders to access their saving, current or credit card account when they are traveling overseas.

Cardholders will be able to make cash withdrawal and balance enquiries at ATMs displaying the Visa PLUS logo worldwide.

2.5 What do the customers need to do before they can use Visa PLUS facilities?
 
Cardholders are required to activate their ATM or Credit Card for overseas usage through their issuing bank.

Once activated, cardholders may use ATM or Credit Card for Visa PLUS facilities at our AmBank ATMs.

2.6 What are the service charges?
 
As an acquirer, AmBank will not charge cardholder for the Visa PLUS acquiring transactions. Please refer to issuing bank for the service charges.

2.7 How much can a customer withdraw using these facilities?
 
Follow the existing withdrawal limit set by ATM cardholders at the issuing bank.

2.8 What will be the currency rate for cash withdrawal and balance enquiries?
 
The currency rate will be controlled by Visa PLUS and should be a standard rate (in RM) across all participating banks in Malaysia.

3. ATM: Round the Clock Banking
 
3.1 What are the Round the Clock Banking hours for ATM?
 
The Round the Clock Banking hours is from 2am to 12 midnight.

From June 2007 onwards.

3.3 Who can use this facility?
 
During these Round the Clock Banking hours, the following accountholders can perform the selected transactions via our AmBank ATM Machines:
  • AmBank ATM cardholders
  • AmBank credit cardholders
  • MEPS Local/Regional Link ATM cardholders (Other Bank accountholders, provided their systems are up)
  • International ATM/Debit and credit cardholders bearing MasterCard Cirrus or Visa Plus logo

4. Inter-Bank Funds Transfer
 
4.1 What is Inter-Bank Funds Transfer?
 
Interbank Fund Transfer (IBFT) is a facility at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) that enables AmBank/AmIslamic customers to transfer funds from one account to another account that is maintained with MEPS participating banks and vice versa.

4.2 How does it work?
 
There are three different ways on how you can perform IBFT at ATMs.
  • Interbank Funds Transfer at AmBank/AmIslamic Bank ATM
  • Interbank Funds Transfer at beneficiary’s bank ATM
  • Fund transfer at other participating bank’s ATM

No registration or subscription is required. This service is readily available for customers of participating banks.

Recipient will receive the transferred funds immediately as it is an online and real-time funds transfer service.

This service is available from 6:00 am to 12 midnights.
 
4.10 What is the service fees/charges for this service?
 
For every successful IBFT transaction, a service fee of RM 1.00 will be imposed.
